The Serenity

Possibly not too much calmness, contentment or composure coming up during the next 4-5 months as we rip into the new horticultural season. Our thoughts are with the Nelson and Central Otago region growers, both badly hit with hail and excessive rain, destroying crops and making life very difficult.

As the seasonal madness ramps up, please continue to prioritise planning ahead, well ahead. The most informed you are likely to be on what is required to solve a problem is right in the thick of the action i.e. in the season.

Sinclair released a new pattern in-tray labelling machine in 2020 which has caught the attention of many around the world. Able to label multiple fruit sizes through 1 machine and label over 2500 trays an hour. On the labelling front we will be trialing Home Compostable labels this year with the aim of full certification.

Sinclair has brand authentication and anti-counterfeit solutions for your fruit label. Consumers want to know where their food is coming from more than ever before and options as simple as the QR code can be an easy way to connect with your consumer. Who’s buying? Where are they buying and how much?

Keep in mind when planning. All the best for the 2021 season.
