Exciting news! Given Sinclair’s commitment to being a leader in environmentally friendly produce labelling solutions, we are proud to announce our backing paper, also known as liner, has been certified as fully compostable and officially named Sinclair EcoLiner®. To our knowledge, Sinclair is the first and only supplier of fresh produce labels to have liner material that has earned this certification. The introduction of EcoLiner will allow more opportunities for our customers to have an environmentally friendly disposal option. This feature could potentially reduce the cost of disposal by not having to pay to send to landfill. Sinclair EcoLiner® is a great addition for customers focused on building a robust sustainability program.
Industrial composting facilities produce commercial and domestic high quality compost for multiple users including certified horticultural fertilisers. Customers interested in composting Sinclair EcoLiner® are encouraged to contact industrial composters in their area, as well as review their current handling and logistics process. Typically, composters need to understand the waste stream of each customer facility, and from there develop a plan directly with the customer.
Composting the liner of course is not the only way to minimise waste and last year kiwifruit packhouse Trevelyans came up with a very creative way indeed supplying the label liner to a local piggery for pig bedding.
