In Full Swing

We have been planning for your 2018 season for some time now, in fact, fruit label production for some categories began in mid-2017. High temperatures and lots of rain has produced heavy crops and the fruit size profile is increasing every day. Generic apple labels have been deployed to our depots in Hastings and Nelson. We are producing larger PLU labels to cope with the increasing profile. The branded label programme production is in full swing and we are following marketing and packhouse forecasts.

Our massive “Initial Distribution” of kiwifruit labels occurred during this last week of February - during which we delivered up to half the kiwi season label needs in one hit. Our Customer Service team have been talking to as many packers as they can about specific labelling needs – be it new variety labels or speciality branded programmes. In fact, the picture above is of Chrissy Mumford, preparring orders for the first kiwifruit deliveries in 2018.

If you have something new we don’t know about yet please get in touch. Feb/March is an extremely busy time for many people in horticulture; our job is to take the stress out of your fruit labeling programme. Your equipment will be fully overhauled before season start, and labels will either be sitting in your packhouse ready to go or just down the road in a handy depot.

There is certainly nothing certain about the primary sector but we are set up well to manage what the season can throw your way. We’ll keep close to your programme needs throughout the year, please let us know when things change for you. All the very best. Kia Kaha.
